<br />e :- - - _ e~- <br />Minerals, Energy and Geology Board <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Governor Roy Romer has <br />appointed the members of the <br />Minerals, Energy and Geology <br />Policy Advisory Board, which was <br />created last legislative session to <br />advise DNR on local, state and fed- <br />eral mineral and energy policy <br />issues. <br />Members of the board are: <br />Edgar Bolton, Craig, representing <br />the Board of Coal Mine Examiners; <br />John Campbell, representing the Oil <br />& Gas Conservation Commission; <br />Lawrence CerrilIo, geologist, repre- <br />senting the Colorado Geological <br />Survey Advisory Committee; <br />Maxine Stewart, representing the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board; <br />Bruce Bartleson, representing high- <br />er education; Jim Evans, represent. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />ing local government; Marian <br />Fournier, emironmental geologist, <br />recommended by the American <br />Institute of Professional Geologists <br />(AIPGl; Robert Turner, representing <br />the Audubon Society; Robert <br />Beverly, representing Club 20 and <br />AIPG; Elaine Brouillard, geologist, <br />recommended by AIPG; Michael <br />Rounds, representing Cyprus <br />Minerals and the Colorado Mining <br />Association; Wayne Sowards, rep- <br />resenting Trapper Mining Inc.; Les <br />Garrett, executive director of the <br />Colorado Oil and Gas Association; <br />Laura Skaer, pdst chairman of the <br />Independent Petroleum <br />Association of Mountain Stales; <br />and Laura Wray, representing <br />AMOCO. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The board held its first <br />meeting on Sept. 11. The remaining <br />meetings for 1992 focus on whether <br />the Colorado Geological Survey <br />should be merged into the new <br />Division of Minerals and Geology, <br />remain an independent agency <br />within DNR or be located at an <br />institution of higher education. The <br />board will accept written and oral <br />comments from the public concern- <br />ing this question during the after. <br />noon of Oct. 5.
