S, DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE Semi-Annual Report Pacific Southwest Inter-Agency Committee July 1, 1980 - December 31, 1980 SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE RIVER BASIN PLANNING ARIZONA: General The title of the planning staff has been changed from River Basin-Watershed Planning Staff to Water Resources Planning Staff, This change resulted from staff reorgani- zation brought about by the formation of multi-state planning staffs to handle watershed activities, River Basin planning activities have not been changed, Little Colorado River Basin Cooperative Study The study involves the preparation of 12 working papers and a summary report, All of the papers are essentially completed except for Erosion and Sediment. A total of 35 maps will be published, of which 34 have been completed, The format of the final report has not been decided, however, the individual working papers will probably be published separately or in some combination instead of one large volume, The completion of the study has been delayed until spring, 1981, because of staff changes, Colorado River Indian Reservation Cooperative Study The collection of basic resource data and the soil survey continues. Data on the amount of irrigation water applied at 20 on-farm weirs and recorder sites is being collected, Weirs and recorders to measure project spills have been installed at 30 spill sites, The Water Conservation Lab, SEA, is using their digitizer and computer facilities to compute the amount of water from the graphs, Arizona State University has completed, under contract, an inventory of recreational resources, This study is currently authorized and funded as a Level B Study, The Tribe has requested an implementaion study, The possibilities of changing to a Level C Study are being explored, 1 C-21
