<br />Releases from Guernsey Reservoir werc cut back sharply early in May to accom-
<br />moclate heavy inflow below the reservoir especially Cram the Laramie River.
<br />Releases thereafter until mid-July were scheduled as necessary for flood con-
<br />trol purposes hy the Corps of Engincers. About 674,000 acre-feet of water was
<br />released at Guernsey Reservoir in excess of the normal irrigation Tequirement.
<br />The Omaha District, Corps of Engineers, indicates that the North Platte River
<br />reservoir system above Guernscy Reservoir prevented flood damage estimated
<br />at about $2, aDO, 000 during May and June 1971.

<br />With exceptional water supply, the North Platte project storage water ownership
<br />filled to capacity early in May and remained at 71 6, 000 acre-feet at the end of the
<br />water year.. Delivery to the North Platte project water users was subnormal during
<br />May and near normal thereafter. A total of 991, 000 acre-feet of water was deliv-
<br />ered to the North Platte project users during the season.

<br />Glenda unit storage water ownership filled to capacity early in March and remained
<br />at 167,000 acre-feet at the end of the water year. Delivery to Glenda unit water
<br />users was 11,000 acre-feet during the season which was near normal.
<br />
<br />Due to the exceptionally high inflow conditions, carryover storage in Glenda
<br />Reservoir at the end of the water year was 128,000 acre-feet which was well
<br />above normal. A carryover of 20,000 acre-feet of water in Guernsey Reservoir
<br />was transferred to the Inland Lakes early in October.
