On October 6, 1953, Director Crawford addressed the <br /> <br />following letter to Douglas McKay, Secretary of the Interior: <br /> <br />My dear Secretary McKay: <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board at a <br />meeting held on May 5, 1952 approved the Curecanti <br />Storage Unit (940,000 acre feet) subject to the <br />report of the Policy and Review Committee (committee <br />authorized by the Board) of the Gunnison River Storage, <br />a report made to, and approved by, the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board. <br /> <br />The Board urges that this project be included <br />in the initial authorization by Congress for con- <br />struction of units of the Colorado River Storage <br />project. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Sincerely yours, <br /> <br />Ivan C. Bennett, Jr., Director of Planning, Bureau <br />of Reclamation, Department of the Interior, and enclosed <br />in th~t letter the resolution of the Policy and Review <br /> <br />Committee passed at the meeting held May 25, 1953, relative <br />to paragraphs 13 and 14 of the report of April 3, 1952. <br /> <br />5. At the meeting of the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />on November 10, 1953, "Mr. Dutcher moved that the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board go jn record that it will favorably <br /> <br />recomnend the Curecanti project for the first phase of <br />development under the Colorado River Storage Project and <br />Participating Projects when final action is taken on the <br />project report by this Board, and that the Board work <br />energetically to bring about the feasibility of the <br />
