r- r- ~ N t;. -';':"'.-:_',,',- - (h) The Bureau of Reclamation shall keep the District Engineer, Corps of Engineers, Department of the Army, in charge of the l.ocal.ity, currentl.y advised of reservoir release, reservoir storage, and such other operating data as the District Engineer may request, and also of those basic operating criteria that affect the schedule of operation. (i) The flood-control regulations of this section are subject to temporary modification by the District Engineer, Corps of Engineers, if found necessary in t1me of emergency. Requests for and action on such modifications may be made by any available means of communication, and the action taken by the District Engineer shall be confirmed in writing under date of same day to the office of the Regional Director of the Bureau of Reclamation in charge of operations. Releases made in accord- ance with the regulations in thl.S section shall not be required at rates or in a 1IIlIDI1er that would be inconsistent with the requirements for protecting Hoover Dam and Lake Mead or downstream dalll8 and tohe levee systelllS in the Needles, Parker, Blythe, and YWIl8 areas from lIl8Jor damage. In the event of danger of I118Jor damage to or failure of s,uch dams or levee systems the releases required by the regulations of this section III8Y be temporarily adjusted by the Bureau of Reclamation pend- ing action of the District Engineer, Corps of Engineers, on request for approval of such adJustlll8nt. :."" (J) Revisions of the Tables of Minimum Average Releases for Flood- Control Purposes lIl8Y be developed from tiDle to t1me as necessary by the Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation. Each such revision shall be effective upon the date specified in the approval thereof by the Chief of Engineers and the Commissioner of Reclalll8tion and from that date until replaced shall be the Tables of MinilllUlll Average Releases for Flood..control Purposes currently in force for purposes of this section. Copies of the Tables of Minimum Average Releases for Flood- Control currently in force shall be kept on file in and may be obtained from the offices of the Chief of Engineers, Departlllent of the Army, and the CoDllll1ssioner of Reclamation, Washington, D. C", and also from the offices of the District Engineer, Corps of Engineers, ,and the Regional Director, Bureau of Reclamation, in charge of the locality.
