Calhoun <br />Regional Director <br /> <br />Subject: Biological Assessment of the Potential Effects of a Fall Test Flow From <br />Glen Canyon Dam <br /> <br />The Bureau of Reclamation intends to conduct a fall test flow at maximum powerplant <br />capacity from Glen Canyon Dam (Test Flow) in October 1997, This Test Flow will <br />increase understanding of the response of the resource to high flows, In particular, <br />knowledge of sediment transport and deposition through Glen and Grand Canyons at a <br />moderately high flow will also be increased, allowing improved sediment management. <br /> <br />National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance is required prior to releasing the <br />Test Flow, Your biological opinion on the effects of the Test Flow on endangered <br />species is necessary for Reclamation to complete the NEPA document.
