<br />0.., f"'" Q() <br />;..V",:O <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />The Board of Water Commissioners of the City and County <br />of Denver on 18 January 1956 commissioned the firm of Tipton <br />and Kalmbach, Inc" to make a study of the Board's then de- <br />creed raw water supplies and its system of raw water diversion <br />and storage facilities that will be available after the present con- <br />struction program is completed, and to make recommendations <br />of the best manner af operating the works in order to make the <br />most efficient and economic use of the Board's water supplies, <br /> <br />To place this study in the proper perspective it should be <br />noted that the engineering firm of Alvord, Burdick & Howson is <br />making an over-all study of the Denver water system including <br />its filtration, pumping, and distribution features. The scope of <br />this report is limited to raw water supplies and raw water facili- <br />ties. Other reports and memoranda covering the study of Den- <br />ver's raw water facilities and supplies available to them were <br />prepared for the Board by Tipton and Kalmbach, Inc" and form <br />a part of the background for this report, Among these are the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. Letter report on amount of Blue River Water available <br />to Denver under the Decree of October 1955-December <br />12,1955. <br /> <br />2. Report on Williams Fork Replacement Reservoir-De- <br />cember 1955, <br /> <br />3.
