O')1f18
~....1,..:-

RESULTS OF STUDIES

31

process a water supply equivalent to that which occurred during
the study period, it being assumed that the water requirement
equaled the average water supply, This is an entirely hypotheti-
cal study without respect to time except insofar as the chrono-
logical sequence of water yeers were concerned, the water re-
quirements being assumed to be static and to be equol to the
overage annual water supply for the 26-year period covered by
the study. The years begin with Yeer 1 and end with Year 26.
It moy be noted that the reservoirs would be full at the time the
period was entered. They would be drawn down rapidly and
become empty in the 7th year, They would then regain some
water and agoin be practically depleted in the 13th year, and
again in the 18th year. After that, they would rapidly fill and
spill slightly in the 24th and 25th years. The same sequence
then would follow for another 25-year period,

From the information available at the present time it is
estimated that the 508,700 acre-feet of storage indicated above
would be about right ta equate and make fully usable under
future conditions the water supplies that will be available to
Denver after the works under construction have been completed,
assuming such a period as 1931 through 1954, However no re-
serve would be available, and requirements beyond those which
could be met by a water supply that would occur during such a
period as 1931- 1954 must be taken care of by additional raw
water supplies to be developed in the future. To process and
make fully available such supplies, and to provide desirable
reserves, will necessitate the provision of additional storage
capacity.

Two Forks Reservoir

Until such time as the Denver requirements will require all
of the water that can be made available to Denver from all
sources after the current program is completed, surplus Blue River
