1. Local Coordination Group:(LCG)

Local coordination groups have been organized both in Delta
and Montrose counties wfth a supportive role in the sal inity program. The
g'-oups 1.1 i I I keep a II agenc i es and others ab,-east of what is be i ng
accompl ished in the sal inity program within respective counties. One
meeting a year wi II be devoted to evaluatir.g/assessing the previous year's
accompl ishments and setting goais, budgets and priorities for the coming
five years conce,-ning the c'n-fann p,-ogram. Meetings wi II be held quarterly
one week before the LSCC meeting.

2. Local Salinity Coo,-dinating Committee:(LSCC)

The local sal inity coordinating committee has been organized
by combining the two local coordination groups and al I other agencies and
othe,-s involved in ove,-all sal inity prog,-am. This committee wi II meet to
consol idate the LCG's activitiesa.r,d reports concerning .the overall
function of the Lower Gunnison Sa.1 inity Program. Meetings wi II be held on
the first Thursday of the quarter.

3. The U.S. Fish 8, Wi Idl ife Service arId the Colorado Division
of Wi Idl ife a'-e c')ordinating with the LSCC on al'l mordtoring and structural
implementations where wetlands and/or wi Idl ife habitat may be involved.

G. Assistance to Minorities, Women, and Limited Resource Farmers:

1. The local news media wi II be used to insure that as much of
the publ ic as pc,ssible wi II be ,-eached.

2. An informational program wi I I be developed with the local
FmHA Office to make sure that "I i FmHA bon-owe,"s are aware c,f the program.

3. A tracking system wi I I be developed to al low for monitoring
the effectiveness of the informational program and participation in the
sal inity p,'ogram. 101 appl icati.:ons have been taken, of which 2 (2%) are
for Women/minorities.

4. Provide information on what organizations might be a source
of financial assistance to I imited resource farmers and the services that
SCS can p,-ovide.

see the results first hand and be a source of information
for the program and irrigation water management.
