<br />and Grand lunction; could safely haul up to 800 ponds of 6inch fish for up to 24 hours; could stand <br />alone plugged into 110 volt as a temporary holding unit for up to 48 hours on light loads of fish. <br /> <br />Expansion of the Hatchery building is required to accommodate intensive culture of Colorado <br />squawfish for production and stocking purposes in the near future. Design, purchase of equipment <br />and construction will begin in FY 98 with available funds. ' <br /> <br />Target Date: September 30, 1998 <br /> <br />Task 2 - Ourav Endangered Fish Facility UT <br /> <br />Task 2a Construct road to new facility building. Accessing the facility and ponds is hampered by poor <br />road conditions. With the need for distribution trucks and general access to the facility a <br />pennanent road is required. In addition, completion of a hatchery building interior and purchase <br />additional water tanks for fish rearing. Repair pond that was undennined during filling because <br />of poor compacting. Purchase submerged pond aerators as recommended to reduce anoxia and <br />provide higher quality water. <br /> <br />Target Date: September 30, 1998 <br /> <br />Task 2b Grow out Ponds along the Green River. Site visits and water chemistIy monitoring to detennine <br />usefulness of 5 grow-out ponds in the middle Green River area. Remove existing fish <br />populations from ponds. Introduce razorback sucker into grow-out ponds, periodically monitor <br />water conditions and visually inspect ponds during the summer. Harvest and slock fish from <br />ponds into Green River. <br /> <br />Target Date: September 30, 1998 <br /> <br />Task 3 - Purchase PIT tags and readers for fish augmentation stocking. <br /> <br />Task 4 - Construct 12 (0.4 acre) grow out ponds and develop water supply at Wahweap State Hatchery, <br />UT. <br /> <br />IX.
