In 1966, the salinity reduced
to 894 ppm, and in 1967 to 799 ppm. Then in 1968, 1969, and 1970, the
salinity increased successively to 851 ppm. In 1971 there was a slight
reduction to an average of 848 ppm. This improvement continued in 1972
effecting an average of 832 ppm at the termination of Minute No, 218 on
June 30.

8. Related Matters

a) Hexico I s Rehabi li tation Plans. The rehabili ta tion of the Mexicali
Valley irrigation and drainage sys tern, wh ich "as ini tiated in June 1969,
continues to progress. It is reported that, to November 30, 1972,
about 221 miles of canals have been lined; about 283 miles of drains
have been constructed or rehabilitated; 63 wells have been installed
and 119 wells have been reconditioned and repaired. All of the 63
wells installed in the Mexicali Valley are replacement wells located
near the wells which they replace.
