<br />1510 <br /> <br />F. Pueblo Reservoir <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />At the end of water year 1982, Pueblo Reservoir content was 60,950 <br />acre-feet. The Winter Water Storage Progra~ was in effect from November 15 <br />through March 14, allowing storage in Puebl? Reservoir of 77,878 acre-feet <br />of water. Project water released from Tu~quoi se Lake and Twi n Lakes was <br />stored. in Pueblo Reservoir from November 1p until April 6, at which time <br />a total water storage was 219,300 acre-feet" The storage of water was under <br />temporary storage contracts throughout the spring and summer, which allowed <br />Pueblo Reservoir to reach its maximum storage on August 2. Elevation was <br />4880.06 feet and content was 262,480 acre-feet. <br /> <br />The high native runoff in the Arkansas Riveri and the above normal precipita- <br />tion below Pueblo (exhibits 12 and 13) supplied most of the needs of the <br />water users below Pueblo Reservoir during w*ter year 1983, The low demands <br />allowed 59,198 acre-feet of the 60,000 acre-feet of water that was made <br />available by the project to the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy <br />District on April 15 to remain in storage at the end of the water year. All <br />of the 30,000 acre-feet of water made available on June 1 and the 35,000 <br />acre-feet of water made available on September 14 remained in storage at the <br />end of the water year. Of the 77,878 acre-feet of winter water stored in <br />Pueblo Reservoir, 51,060 acre-feet was still in storage at the end of <br />September (see exhibit 14). The portions o~ these two supplies that are not <br />used by May 1, 1984, will be added to the p~oject imports and made available <br />to the District for water year 1984 as proj~ct water. The water year ended <br />with 221,180 acre-feet of water in storage in Pueblo Reservoir. <br /> <br />Table 7 and exhibit 15 show Pueblo Reservoir operations during water year . <br />1983, The pan evaporation rate used for computing Pueblo Reservoir evapora- <br />tion is shown on exhibit 16, <br /> <br />I <br />G. Storage Contracts I <br />I <br />In water year 1983, the project Ihad 12 contracts for storage of <br />water in project storage space in the Eas~ Slope storage system. Four are <br />long-term contracts: Twin Lakes Reservoir and Canal Company for 54,452 <br />acre-feet, CF&I Steel corporation for firm storage for 17,416 acre-feet of <br />repl acement storage and 10,000 acre-feet of add itional storage space, High <br />line Canal Company for 10,000 acre-feet Of storage space, and Homestake <br />Project for 30,000 acre-feet of storage sp$ce, The remaining contracts are <br />l-year interim contraocts for if-and-when avlail able storage space. <br /> <br />, <br />I <br />, <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />. <br />
