The probable scope of such developments
is unclear at the present time but studies are being made by the
Tri-County Water Conservancy District concerning means of supplying
domestic water for the sites. Although the sites are not within ttie
project irrigable land area, the developments wOuld undoubtedly have
an impact upon the project.

The possibility of developing a large coal-burning, steam
electric generating plant along the Uncompahgre River immediately
south of the project land area is also under consideration. Coal
reserves along the drainage divide between Cimarron Creek and the
Uncompahgre River would be the source of fuel for the plant.

Interest in locating in the general area has been expressed on
behalf of various other industries but information is not currently
available concerning any definite proposals.

20
