~

1:\1
l."

,-
-

headgate. The information contained in Table 11 is not currently part of the main
irrigator database but will be added during future work. Table 12 is the headgate
inventory for the Cone Ditch similar to Table 11 for the Gurley. The flume size on
Table 12 is blank since Parshall measuring flumes are not used at diversions from the
main Cone Ditch.

Summary

This data collection report summarizes work conducted as a follow up to Phase 1 of the San
Miguel Project Water Supply Study. Interviews were conducted with shareowners,
landowners, and irrigators to gather information on cropping patterns, irrigation practices,
soils, distribution of ditches, and ownership of ditch company shares in the Norwood-Redvale
area. A database was developed to store and manage information obtained during the
interview process. Information from the database for a specific parcel of irrigated land can be
related to a study area map annotated with parcel numbers.

Future additions to the database could include information about on-farm measurement
structures, mean elevation of the parcel, and information for parcels of land owned or
operated by the small percentage of shareowners not accounted for by this data gathering
effort.

The information compiled in this report is intended to be a working document which can be
used by the ditch companies, the SCS, and individual shareowners. The information
obtained through the data collection activities described herein will be used to develop
recommended operation plans for Gurley and Lone Cone systems which may be used as
management and planning tools for allocating present and future water resources within the
study area.

I

6

I
I
