<br />002310 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Service over the effect of the operation of Hoover Dam on the Virgin River Delta and the southwestern <br />willow flycatcher. To date, Reclamation has not responded to the 60 day notice. <br /> <br />The next meeting of the Steering Committee is scheduled for January 13, 2000. A two day <br />workshop to discuss the status of the program is scheduled for January 27 and 28, 2000. <br /> <br />WESTERN WATER PLANNING <br /> <br />Glen Canvon Adaotive Management <br /> <br />The Glen Canyon Adaptive Management Technical Work Group (TWG) met in Phoenix, Arizona, <br />on December 7 and 8, 1999. The TWG will recommend a Spring 2000 beach habitat building flow <br />provided the hydrologic triggering criteria are met. Based on the current forecast, Reclamation estimates <br />that there is a 30% probability that the criteria will be met. <br /> <br />The next Adaptive Management meeting is scheduled for January 20 and 21, 2000. <br /> <br />WATER QUALITY <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Program <br /> <br />Reclamation's Basinwide Salinity Control Program <br /> <br />Included in the Board folder is a copy ofa memorandum from Mr. Jack Barnett, Executive Director <br />of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum (Forum), informing me that the Forum sponsored <br />salinity control legislation (S.1211) had passed the Senate on November 19, 1999. The House heard <br />testimony on companion legislation (H.R. 2619) 0\1 October 21,1999. It is hoped that passage of this bill <br />will occur in early 2000. <br /> <br />Supplemental Report on the 1999 Review <br /> <br />Included in the Board handout material is a copy of the Supplemental Report on the 1999, Water <br />Quality Standards for Salinity, Colorado River System. This Report contains the statements and comments <br />that were received by the Forum at public meetings in Los Angeles, California on August 23, 1999 and in <br />Lyman, Wyoming on August 24, 1999 along with written comments that were received by August 20, <br />1999.
