<br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Soil Mapping Unit 1.0: Li~ht colored soils of the desert <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Soils of this unit are located in two areas on the general soil map. The <br />largest extends from south of the confluence of the Yampa and Little <br />Snake rivers in Colorado northward to the state line and into Wyoming. <br />It includes most of Sweetwater County in the basin and that part of <br />Carbon County west of Muddy Creek. The smaller delineation extends from <br />near Greystone westward through Browns Park to Utah. This is the most <br />extensive soil unit in the basin. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />... <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Desert rangeland near Two Bar Ranch <br />(soil mapping unit 1.0) <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The landscape is characterized by rolling hills broken by gently sloping <br />strips of alluvial soils bordering deeply incised drainageways and <br />colluvial slopes. There is a sparse cover of saltbush and shadscale on <br />the uplands while greasewood and rabbitbrush are conspicuous along <br />drainageways. Larger expanses of gentle slopes are along the Green, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />- 12 - <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />
