<br />At the beginning of the design process it is important for us to receive as many
<br />ideas as possible about matters such as the kinds of scenarios the Planning Model will be
<br />used to analyze and the kinds of questions users will want to answer regarding the effects
<br />of different scenarios. These ideas will help us to design the right functionality into the
<br />model from the beginning. later in the design process it will become more expensive to
<br />change directions or "add in" functionality that wasn't planned for.
<br />
<br />It is also important for us to understand the computing environments in which the
<br />model will be used. The hardware and software that users have available or can readily
<br />obtain and the skill level of users will place some constraints on what kinds of functionality
<br />the model can conveniently provide.
<br />
<br />This questionnaire is designed to give us some initial information in these areas.
<br />Free form comments are more than welcome. For now you should not be concerned about
<br />technical feasibility or details of representation, although specific examples of things you
<br />might want to do with the Model would be helpful. Think of the Model as an abstract tool
<br />and tell us how you would like to be able to use it. Please have the most appropriate
<br />persons on your staff fill out this questionnaire and bring it with you to the February 19
<br />Sponsors Committee meeting.
