Bureau of Indian Affairs, <br />Department of the Interior <br /> <br />The Congress provide to the tribes with ~ <br />lands located within the Floodway or the ~ <br />Bureau of Indian Affairs specific appropria- <br />tions to conduct flood hazard area mapping <br />of reservation lands for the purpose of <br />participating in the National Flood <br />Insurance Program. <br /> <br />The Congress provide sufficient continued~~~~ <br />funding, in accordance with Section 15 of ~~ <br />the Colorado River Floodway Protection Act, <br />to ensure that the remedial measures <br />recommended by the Task Force are followed <br />through on. <br /> <br />c. The Congress establish a liaison at the o'V <br />local level between the Bureau of <br />Reclamation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs <br />to ensure that the implementation of the <br />Colorado River Floodway Protection Act is <br />consistent with the trust responsibility of <br />the United States to the five Indian tribes <br />whose lands are located within the Floodway. <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />d. The Congress provide specific appropriations or <br />to car ry out recommendations of the <br />Secretary of the Interior pursuant to <br />Section 11 of the Colorado River Floodway <br />Protection Act, which requires the Secretary <br />to analyze the effects of the Act on the <br />economic development of the Indian tribes. <br /> <br />IV-8 <br />
