Collect and file data on wind erosion on cropland <br />and subdivision. <br />b. Secure adequate protection of areas disturbed by <br />construction. <br />I. Work with local people to identify areas pre- <br />sently under construction, and. those that will <br />soon be under construction. <br />2. Identify practices & precautions that will be <br />necessary. Oetermi ne poss i bi 1 i ty for revege- <br />. tat ion to insure cover during critical season. <br />3. Identify landowners responsible. Investigate <br />their interest in & cooperation with local SCS. <br />Point out Rlanning and follow-up needs. <br />c. Determine methods for protecting big game winter <br />range and migration routes. Locate critical <br />winter ranges and develop maps showing them. <br />Elk, mule deer and pronghorned antelope will be <br />considered. <br />d. Inventory wetlands of the Basin. Locate Types 3, <br />4, and 5 wetlands as identified by the Fish and <br />Wildlife Service. Investigate ways of assuring <br />an adequate supply of water for basin waterfowl <br />habitat. . <br />e. Determine capabilities and potentials for increas- <br />ing the quantity & qual ity of habitat for upland <br />game. Inventory species found in the basin pre- <br />sently and develop plans for increasing popula- <br />tion. Investigate possibility of exotic species <br />introduction to occupy unused niches. , <br />f. Identify rare or threatened plants and animals in <br />the basin. Locate areas of concentration of these <br />species and develop plans for improving the habi- <br />tat.
