I,

. Water Commissioner Training: In November 1993, water
commissioners received computer tools. The Division then
conducted numerous training sessions on the use of the PC's, the
Microsoft software and the PC interface developed by CADSWES.
The training provided a good foundation for water commissioners,
many who were not accustomed to using computers.

. User Manuals and Documentation: Draft documentation has
been provided during training sessions. This indudes the users
manuals for the PC Interface, the UNIX application, programmer's
manual, and database manual. Final users documentation will be
completed by July 1, 1995.

. System Testing and Support Contract: A contract was
developed during the fall of 1994 with CADSWES to allow system
testing and support of both the UNIX application and PC Interface
through July 1, 1995. Two water commissioners and Division 1
office staff continue to test the Water Commissioner PC Interface.
CADSWES and DWR staff are also focusing on improving
efficiency of the UNIX application. Division 1 staff anticipate full
implementation by South Platte Water Commissioners the Spring
of 1995.

I'
r

. Future Development: DWR staff and sponsors are looking to
erihance the application by adding a point flow analysis, additional
graphics for the PC interface, and possibly equipping existing key
gaging stations with radio frequency transmitters to eliminate the
time lag in obtaining flow data.

. Future Funding: DWR staff is also investigating issues
associated with user access to the system and long term funding
for the project. A portion of this funding is expected to come from
outside water users of the application, such as Denver Metro area
municipalities. An agreement for the terms of this access is being
developed.

,
