various development projects, In addition, using derived tables is expected to enhance
access performance and allow software development to occur at an accelerated rate,

Computing Environment This Scope of Work is contingent upon the State's selection of
a computing environment including the hardware platform, the network platform, and the
database software, To date, application development has been on Silicon Graphics UNIX
machines running Informix software, However, it is possible that the State will switch to
servers running Windows NT, and Informix's Dynamic On-Line Engine, This scope
contains a contingency (Task 9) will allows budget and schedule if the State decides to
move to the NT platform,

Existing CRDSS Database The existing CRDSS database and associated software is
currently in use by the State and others, It will remain on line during the development of
HB - CRDSS, Therefore this scope treats the development of HB - CRDSS as a new
database, Following the completion of this contract, the CRDSS database will be
completely replaced with HB - CRDSS and eventually HydroBase itself.

ERWIN ERWIN is a software package used by the State to assist in developing and
graphically presenting the HydroBase design, Results include SQL statements which
provide a good starting point for building the HB - CRDSS database,

2.0 State Responsibilities
The State will provide the following to assist RTi in developing HB - CRDSS,

Task 81 - HydroBase Design,
The State will provide the HydroBase Design (Exhibit 1) and associated ERWIN files,

Task - 82 HydroBase Data Dictionary,
The State will provide database documentation to R Ti. The attribute definitions will
contain, where appropriate, the name of the Dbase file (e,g, Snn,dbf) and the name of the
Dbase field (e,g, STRNAME) from which it came, This is not intended to be pseudo
code, rather it is an aid for understanding the population of data from their existing files
to HB - CRDSS,

Task - 83 Technical Expertise,
The State will supply access to, and the time of, a qualified representative who is
responsible for facilitating the resolution of data issues and HydroBase design issues,
The State representative will not be responsible for performing activities other than those
assigned to the State in this Scope of Work, Also, the State representative will not be
responsible for managing or directing RTi staff, The State will be available to assist RTi
in developing Pseudo Code for DWR data by describing concepts ranging from data type,
to design issues, to migration constraints, All communication for these issues will be in
writing between the assigned representative of the State and RTi. All communication

Scope of Work, HB - CROSS, 1/30/97

0877

2
