<br />001713 <br /> <br />\ <br />, <br /> <br />PROJECT WORK PLAN <br /> <br />I. Name of Project: <br /> <br />Yampa-Gre~n Wild and Scenic Rivers Study <br /> <br />II. Location: <br /> <br />The Green River study area cover/! the entire segment of the <br />river between Flaming Gorge Dam and the Southern boundary of <br />Dinosaur National Monument in the States of Colorado and Utah. <br />The Yampa River study area covers the segment of the river <br />within Dinosaur National Monument in the State of Colorado. <br />The sections of .rivers under study are in Moffat County in <br />northwestern Colorado and in Daggett and Uintah Counties in <br />northeastern Utah. (See map, Exhibit A.) <br /> <br />III. Purpose and Objective: <br /> <br />The purpose of this study is to determine the potential for <br />including sections of the Yampa and Green Rivers in the National <br />Wild and Scenic Rivers System, <br /> <br />The end product will be a report and accompanying environmental <br />impact statement that will make_recommendations .to_CongresB-Qn <br />whether or not specific segments of the rivers qualify for and <br />should be included as part of the National System. <br /> <br />IV. Overall Scope of the Study: <br /> <br />The study. will consider the segments of the Yampa and Green <br />Rivers authorized for study by Congress, and the sections of <br />the Green River in Utah between Flaming Gorge Dam and the <br />'southern boundary of Dinosaur National Monument as requested by <br />the Governors of Colorado and Utah. The river corridor under <br />study will include one-quarter-mile strips of land along either <br />side of the river or lands within line-of-sight from the river, <br />whichever is greater. <br /> <br />Appropriate Federal, State, and local agencies and private <br />organizations and individuals will be involved in the planning <br />process. <br /> <br />The final report will give full consideration to the potential <br />for inclusion of the river segments under study into the National <br />Wild and Scenic Rivers System. ., The study report and environmental <br />impact statement will meet all requirements and guidelines of the <br /> <br />1 <br />
