Presentations will include
concepts, objectives, and goals of each cooperating agency followed by a question
and answer period. A description of public involvement activities and the
process will also be provided.

The agencies will be entering into discussions and studies on a possible
alternative to develop a water service contract to deliver water from the Wayne
N. Aspinall Unit to the BLCA. The agencies believe that a water service
contract, using the Aspinall Unit (Blue Mesa, Morrow Point, and Crystal
Reservoirs) to provide this water, would be feasible and could ~esolve many
issues related to protection of the BLCA and Gunnison Gorge, the reserved water
right claims of the United States, and possibly flows for endangered fish
species. The informational meetings will be followed by public scoping meetings
in late May 1992 where the public will be asked to identify issues and
alternatives.

Two informational meetings (one in the afternoon and one in the evening)
will be held at each location. Because the same material will be covered at all
six meetings~ it is necessary to attend only one. The meetings will be held:

April 28, 1992, Gunnison, Colorado, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Gunnison County
Fairgrounds, Multi-Purpose Room, 275 South Spruce;

April 29,1992, Montrose, Colorado, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the Pavilion,
1800 Pavilion Drive; and,

April 30, 1992, Delta, Colorado, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the Columbine
Senior Services Building, 247 Meeker.

The Bureau of Reclamation makes every effort to assure that its meetings are
accessible to persons with disabilities.
