<br />4. Import nodes can be designated for water entering <br />the system from across system boundaries. <br /> <br />5. Each reservoir can be designated as a spill node for <br />losses from the system proper. Spills from the <br />system are the most expensive type of water transfer, <br />such that MODSIM always seeks to minimize <br />unnecessary spill. <br /> <br />6. Reservoir operating policies are provided by the user <br />in the form of desired target end-of-period storage <br />volumes for each reservoir. Maximum storage <br />capacity can be designated as spill capacity or the <br />bottom of the flood control pool in a reservoir. <br /> <br />11 <br />
