Bennett
CRSM Porting to a PC

INTRODUCTION

The State of Colorado is interested in porting the current mainframe version of the
USBR's Colorado River Stream Simulation (CRSS) models to a PC for use in house and
as an interim product for the Colorado River Decision Support System (CROSS). CRSS,
as it currently exists, consists of four separate programs:

. MHYDRO which prepares the hydrology data for the simulation model,
. SMDm which prepares the demand data for the simulation model,
. CRSM which performs the simulation, and
. T APEDIT which prepares output reports from the simulation model results.

This memorandum describes the results of the edits which resulted from porting the
USBR's version of CRSM to a PC It replaces the January 24, 1994 memo by including
appropriate edits and revisions associated with allowing CRSM to operate in a Multi-
Trace mode and a description of changes which are proposed to correct a detailed printout
oversight in Subroutine Scrib2.for and a continuity loss in Subroutine Sedadj.for. It
replaces the April I, 1994 memo by describing the changes associated with making the
PC version operate using Double Precision and includes additional comments regarding
the USBR's approach to account for sediment in the reservoirs and reservoir elevation-
area-capacity curves. Separate memorandum describe the following; General porting
procedures, MHYDRO Porting to a PC, SMDm porting to a PC, and TAPEDIT porting
to a PC.
