General Porting Procedures for CRSS to a PC

INTRODUCTION

The State of Colorado is interested in porting the current mainframe version of the USBR's Colorado

River Stream Simulation (CRSS) models to a PC for use in house and as an interim product for the

Colorado River Decision Support System. CRSS, as it currently exists, consists of four separate programs:

. MHYDRO which prepares the hydrology data for the simulation model,

. SMDID which prepares the demand data for the simulation model.

. CRSM which performs the simulation, and

. T APEDIT which prepares output reports from the simulation model results.

This memorandum describes the general procedure used to perform the porting. They were developed to

assist in tracking every change made during the porting process and allow easy review by other reviewers.

Separate memorandum describe the following: CRSM porting to a PC, MHYDRO Porting to a PC,

SMDID Porting to a PC. and T APEDIT Porting to a Pc.

GENERAL PORTING PROCEDURES

. All porting will be done on a subroutine by subroutine basis.

. All changes will be summarized as comments at the top of each subroutine. For relatively minor

global changes (ex change" to ') this is the ouly comment the program will contain..
