o J l:i 5 '.~

. Other variables assigned but not used in the Lower Region's version of subroutine
APPOR.FOR include: SRPCAP, CFSMAX, NT, and PKRPSCH. These were
commented out after reviewing their current operation.

COMPARISON OF RESUL IS: USBR Cyber to PC

Following are the changes implemented to a version of CRSM on the USBR's Cyber in
order to test the ability of the model to produce similar results on the PC. These changes
were implemented by Bruce Williams of the Lower Region and are understood to have
been performed to a file named SEDOUT (binary name B42894).

. The concerns associated with the variables PROB02, ACFT, SURPSN, and SNEP
were corrected.

. The CRSM control file which resulted in FORMAT 9080 of subroutine
READER. FOR operating improperly was revised.

. Both models were operated using the following input files:

ITEM
CRSM control
T APEDIT control
SMDID demands
MHYDRO hydrology control
CRSM output from the Cyber

FILE NAME
CONCOLl
EDSTAT3
ICAP893
PUNC792 & MCMHYD
OSEDFX2

CONCLUSIONS

As shown in Appendix A, end of month storage values are extremely close. Reservoirs in
the upper basin, Blue Mesa, Flaming Gorge, Navajo and Lake Powell, are extremely
good. Lower Basin reservoirs, Mead, Parker and Mojave, have slightly greater
differences but are well within acceptable limits (the maximum difference is 1,300 ac-ft /
25,000,000 ac-ft = 0.005 %). Salinity and Power generated estimates are, in all cases,
perfect. Power capacity is perfect for all reservoirs except at Parker Dam (Lake Havasu).
Note all the results presented in Appendix A - C are in ac-ft, not the kac-ft commonly
reported.

11
