<br />Ou2356 <br /> <br />Resource Information <br /> <br />The BLM cites no conflicts in the Bill Hare and Larsen Creek <br />WSAS.4 The American Flats WSA has only a few conflicts.S Areas <br />near the WSA have been mined, and mining claims exist within its <br />original boundaries, However, these potential conflicts have been <br />eliminated by the boundary adjustments recommended in this <br />proposal. <br /> <br />Boundary Issues <br /> <br />The conservationists' boundary recommendations for these areas are <br />designed to eliminate all conflicts, and to provide for manage- <br />ability of the WSAs as additions to the Big Blue Wilderness Area. <br />The conservationists' proposal contains additional acreage on the <br />American Flats unit because the vehicle track that once existed in <br />the area has revegetated and can no longer be considered an <br />impact. <br /> <br />The proposed boundary follows the crest of a steep rise (the <br />Hinsdale/Ouray county line) on the west, to the Engineer Pass road <br />on the south, .thence easterly along the road to the headwaters of <br />Henson Creek, and back north to American Lake where it rejoins the <br />original WSA boundary.
