OD2373

Because of the rocky nature of the area, little opportunity for
motorized recreation or cattle grazing exists.

The Greenhorn Mountain WSA does not have any developed or proven
mineral resources. The southern portion of the area was staked
for uranium at one time, but the depressed market has led to
virtually no exploration. Oil and gas leases have been applied
for in the southern section of the area, but no additional
activity has occurred.

Boundary Issues

160 acres of private land are contained within the boundaries of
the WSA. While the owner presently has no plans to develop or
gain motorized access to the area, exchange or acquisition by the
Forest Service should be pursued to avoid future conflicts.

17
