The objective of the task was as follows:

Estimate irrigation efficiency for the aggregated structures and update the Statemod .dds input file.

Approach and Results

The DMI demandts was executed on the Phase 2 .dds, .ddc, and ;ddh files in order to calculate basin-
wide efficiency for use in Phase 3. The demandts.rep file gave the following summary of acreage
weighted average efficiency in percent:

o

N

D

J

F

M

A

M

J

J

A

S

Total

19

2

2

2

2

2

25

23

24

33

48

42

19

The 2 percent winter efficiency stems from the structure representing Stillwater Ditch use in the
Colorado basin. Efficiency for this ditch was explicitly set to 1.0 year round (seteff), and acreage was
set to 1212 acres, so demandts calculated an efficiency for the winter months. Other Phase 2 trans basin
agricultural structures (Sarvis Ditch, Rich Ditch) are assigned an efficiency of 1.0 year round but have
acreage set to -999.

The above efficiencies will be incorporated into the .dds file in Subtask 3.09, when demandts is executed
to create the historical and calculated demand sets. The demandts command line option 'seteff' will be
used to force efficiencies for the aggregated structures to the monthly values shown.

DN-CnlOl-02/mr

aOVLE
