<br />001278 <br /> <br />602(a) <br /> <br />8.23 million acre-ft <br /> <br />8.25 million acre-ft <br /> <br />1. section of Public Law 90-537 that <br />requires the Secretary of the Inte- <br />rior to propose criteria for the co- <br />ordinated long-range operation of <br />the Colorado River storage Project <br />reservoirs to carry out the provi- <br />sions-of the Colorado River Compact, <br />the Upper Colorado River Basin Com- <br />pact, and the Mexican Water Treaty. <br /> <br />8.23 million acre-ft is the release <br />from Lake Powell specified in the <br />criteria. It is derived from the <br />8.25 million acre-ft required at Lee <br />Ferry minus 0.02 million acre-ft as- <br />sumed contribution by the Paria <br />River. <br /> <br />This is the amount of water the up- <br />per Basin States must deliver at Lee <br />Ferry. It is equal to the 7.5 mil- <br />lion acre-ft Compact requirement <br />plus half the 1.5 million acre-ft <br />annual obligation to Mexico. <br /> <br />I,;. <br /> <br />4 <br />
