However. only a <br />small percem:age ot those potential slides would pose a real problem. The <br />geological survey has identified 12 such potential slides (Page 124. Flood <br />Hazard Mitigation Plan for Colorado. This monitoring could be done by installing white permanent <br />survey crosses. made out of heavy plastic or white aluminum. <br /> <br />A survey pin could be placed in the middle of these crosses. The pins could <br />," .be surveyed.. initially and the survey crosses could be monitor'll1. _!l:!..~I1!!l.~ns of <br />aerial photography on an annual basis. The State of COlorado has the airplane <br />and the photographic equipment to monitor those surveycrosses. <br /> <br />As little as two (2) feet of movement could be detected with aerial photo- <br />. graphy. This type of monitoring probably provides the most economical means <br />of surveillance. <br />
