Waterfowl production associated with the channel is expected to be <br />about 258 ducks annually. Waterfowl hunting and other wildlife-oriented <br />recreation are expected to average about 45 hunter-days and 500 man-dQYs use, <br />respectively. Net benefits associated with thi.s use are expected to anllUally <br />average about $428 for waterfowl hunting and $1,000 for wildlife-oriented <br />recreation. <br /> <br />G. Rio Grande Fishe~ <br /> <br />Project operation would increase fhe flows of the Rio Grande dOHnstream from the <br />mouth of the conveyance channel by about 100 second-feet. These flows ,.auld <br />improve the quality of stream fishing in the 32 miles of the Rio Grande in <br />Colorado and about 76 miles in New Nexico. Fishing use would annually be <br />enhanced by abont 3,000 l1'.an-days in Colorado and about 10,000 maw-days i0. <br />New Nexico. Annual net benefits associated with the increased fishing use would <br />amount to about $39,000. <br /> <br />H. Raptor Nesting Platforms <br /> <br />The HIS is presently investigating the feasibility of establishing artIficIal <br />raptor nesting platforms in the projec.t area. The platforms will be located in <br />such a manner as to not interfere with projec.t operation and rn.:-lintenance activi- <br />ties.
