.

7

.

approximately 185,000 acre feet between Western and I'f)"'R's estimate~). \"ater

releases from Taylor Draw Reservoir were calculated using Western's estimate

of modified inflows to the reservoir based upon their assumed development of

Colorado conditional rights upstream. Deseret's withdrawal was taken from

Bonanza and not Taylor Draw. Water available for use in the Bonanza Res-

ervoir from 1970 to 1978 was calculated for varying required releases from

the Bonanza Reservoir. UD\~'s assumed withdrawals from Ronanza and downstream

were also assumed considering Deserel

power was assumed to be generated only after other uses were met. Re-

leases from the reservoir were governed by an assumed minimum flow in the

White River below all project diversions. Historical stream flows were

modified using Western's assumed upstream future development and Taylor

Draw's Reservoir releases. These modified stream flows were used as the

inflows to the Bonanza Reservoir.

For a minimum stream flow of 95 cfs below all Bonanza project diversions,

all of UDWR's estimated project demands, except hydro power generation,

would have been met had the project been in operation during 1977, the most

severe drought on record. Thus in 1977, hyrdro power generation would have

been essentially eliminated if 95 cfs were maintained in the stream below

all diversions.

Reservoir at Taylor Draw near Ran~ely

Based upon the assumptions of Western, Engineers regarding development of

conditional water rights upstream, sufficient water would not exist in the

II

0300

\
\ .
.0 '-"
-..\, '--.
\'"
