Summary of Ducks Produced on Wetlands Affected by the Project

This loss of waterfowl translates into the loss of about 600 hunter-days and
the loss of 1,000 birds which would have been harvested without the project.

e. Other Water Birds

Other,water bird use losses were calculated at 40 use-days/acre/season. The
8,460 acres of wetlands impacted by the project would result in a loss of
338,400 other water bird use-days/season.

f. Endangered Species

Four Endangered Wildlife Species - The Bald eagle, Whooping Crane, American
peregrine falcon and the Black-footed ferret - may be found in the Project
Area. There are no known federally listed Endangered Plant Species in the
Project Area. Our Biological Opinion of May 21, 1979 stated "that the
Project is not likely to jeopardize Bald eagles, Whooping cranes or other
federally 1 isted species." In addition to the federally 1 isted species,
the Greater sandhill crane and the White pelican, both State listed Endan-
gered Species, are also found in the Project Area.
