RESOLUTION
of the
UTAH BOARD OF WATER RESOURCES
on the
WATER QUALITY STANDARDS REVIEW
of the
COLORADO RIVER BASIN SALINITY CONTROL FORUM

WHEREAS, the 1riennial review of water quality standards for the
Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Program has been prepared by the
Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum distributed for public review and
comment; and

WHEREAS, issues of water quality in the Colorado River basin in Utah
are very important to the State of Utah; and

WHEREAS, the Forum finds the current water quali1y standards to be
sufficient to meet the goals of the Salinity Contol Act and recommends no changes
to the standards; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, thai the Board of Water
Resources supports the findings of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control
Forum in the "1996 REVIEW WATER QUALITY STANDARDS FOR SALIN17Y.
COLORADO RIVER SYSTEM' and encourages the United Slates Congress 10
fund the Salinity Control programs at levels sufficient to main1ain the standards
and meet 1he numeric criteria as set forth in 1he plan of implementa1ion in the
report.
