Request and secure a special B.I.A. 638 engineering appropriation <br />and hire independent and qualified engineering assistance, <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Formulate and adopt a policy and position statement in regard to <br /> <br />the Highline Canal, the Cortez-Towoac Pipeline and the municipal <br /> <br /> <br />and agricultural development funds, and begin working with the <br /> <br /> <br />congressional delegation, the Secretary of Interior and governmental <br /> <br /> <br />agencies to secure what the Tribe wants to get out of the water <br /> <br /> <br />development negotiations. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3. Select Option 2 - Raw/Treated Water Alternative <br /> <br />4. Include a funding request for $3 million for the Cortez-Towaoc <br />Pipeline and $2 million for the municipal water maintenance and <br />improvement fund in the Tribe's Long-Rang Sanitation Facilities <br />Priorities to be submitted to the Indian Health Service. <br /> <br />Action Steps one through four (1-4) should be pursued as Soon as <br />possible with substantial progress expected in the next ninety (90) days. <br /> <br />Additional Steps <br /> <br />5. Using engineering assistance provided through the B.I.A. 638 <br />engineering appropriation, lands to be irrigated should be <br />selected and incorporated into the Tribal Policy and Position <br />Statement.
