K', / @ <br />('O~ 1\' F'~ <br />Ire; k~ 4;n.. /Ie-J- <br /> <br />M E M 0 RAN DUM <br /> <br />April 9, 1986 <br /> <br />TO: Colorado River Basin States Representatives <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Addition to Seven-State Statement on Colorado River <br />Floodway Protection Act <br /> <br />Since sending out the draft of the Seven-State statement <br />last week, I have received recommendations from several sources <br />that the statement should include a discussion of Senate Bill <br />S. 498, introduced by Senator DeConcini, which also addresses <br />the problems of high flows in the Lower Colorado River area. <br />Accordingly, I have prepared the enclosed addition to the statement, <br />which should be inserted just prior to the section headed "Technical <br />Comments on Selected Sections..." <br /> <br />Mark Haynes, Professional Staff Member of the Senate Committee <br />on Environment and Public Works, informed me that the Committee <br />needs to receive 10 copies of the final statement by April l8. <br />Accordingly, in order to incorporate all comments, it will be <br />necessary to receive your comments on or before April l5. <br /> <br />~ ~V:At~ <br /> <br />Vernon E.
