1]02455

Durango Pumoing Plant - Stage 1

Amendment 001

B. Maintain equipment, including mixers, hoses, nozzles, nozzle liners, air- and
water-pressure gauges, and gaskets, in clean and proper operating condition satisfactory
to the COR.

2.04 COMPOSTION

A. Design compressive strength (fc): 4,000 pounds per square inch at twenty-eight (28)
days age as determined from 3- by 3-inch cores extracted from test panels and from in-
place shotcrete.

B. Make adjustments as directed by the COR to obtain shotcrete having suitable
impermeability, density, strength, and durability. Suitable strength is that which will
assure that 80 percent of all test specimens exceed the 4,000 psi design strength.

C. Consistency

I. The consistency of the dry-mix process shotcrete is regulated by the amount of
water introduced at the nozzle and is adjusted so that the in-place shotcrete
appears to be adequately compacted and neither sags nor shows excessive
rebound.

2. The consistency of the wet-mix process shotcrete at the delivery point shall not
exceed 3-inch slump.

D. Cementitious materials

I. Shotcrete will have a minimum cementitious materials content of 658 pounds per
cubic yard as discharged from the nozzle.

2. Amount of cementitious materials will be increased by the COR as necessary to
obtain the specified compressive strengths and bond.

E. Deleted

2.05 MATERIALS FOR WEEP HOLES

A. PVC pipe: ASTM D 1785, schedule 80, 2-inch diameter.

PART 3

EXECUTION

3.01 BATCHING

A. Dry-Mix Process Batching:

I. Water, cementitious materials, sand, coarse aggregate, and admixture may be
volume proportioned by controlled, calibrated, screw conveyor, or other methods
of feed if uniform proportions are obtained.

2. Equipment shall be capable of controlling the delivery of material so that
inaccuracies do not exceed I percent for water, I -1/2 percent for cementitious
materials, 2 percent for sand and coarse aggregate, and 3 percent for admixture

Shotcrete
03370 - 4
