<br />00245Q <br /> <br />Durango Pumoing Plant - Stage 1 <br /> <br />K. <br /> <br />Prevention of Repeated Failure to Meet Tolerances: <br /> <br />1. When concrete placements result in hardened concrete which does not meet <br />specified tolerances, submit to Contracting Officer an outline of preventive <br />actions such as modifications to forms, modified procedure for setting screeds, <br />and different finishing techniques to be implemented to avoid repeated failures. <br />Submit when requested by Contracting Officer. <br /> <br />2. Government reserves the right to delay concrete placements until preventive <br />actions which have been approved by Contracting Officer are implemented. <br /> <br />I <br />, <br /> <br />3.06 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br /> <br />A. Concrete Quality Control Measures <br /> <br />1. Provide quality control measures to assure compliance of the concrete with the <br />contract requirements. <br /> <br />B. Concrete Quality Assurance Program <br /> <br />I. The Government will, independently of the Contractor's concrete quality control <br />program, conduct a concrete quality assurance program incorporating tests and <br />Contractor-furnished sampling equipment specified below. As a part of its <br />concrete quality assurance program, the Government will conduct tests to the <br />extent and frequency necessary to ascertain that the concrete constituents, as well <br />as fresh and hardened concrete, meet requirements of specifications. <br /> <br />2. Tests <br /> <br />a. The Government will obtain samples and conduct tests in accordance with <br />the test methods and specifications listed below: <br /> <br />I) Sampling hydraulic cement; ASTM C 183. <br /> <br />2) Sampling pozzolan; ASTM C 311. <br /> <br />3) Sampling aggregate; ASTM D 75. <br /> <br />4) Reducing field samples of aggregate to testing size; ASTM C <br />702. <br /> <br />5) Absorption offine aggregate; ASTM C 128. <br /> <br />6) Absorption of coarse aggregate; ASTM C 127. <br /> <br />7) Total moisture content of aggregate; ASTM C 566. <br /> <br />8) Sampling fresh concrete; ASTM C 172. <br /> <br />9) Concrete uniformity; ASTM C 94, annex AI. <br /> <br />10) Density (unit weight) and yield; ASTM C 138, except that a <br />0.25-cubic-foot container may be used for nominal aggregate sizes <br />up to I -1/2-inches. <br /> <br />I 1) Air content; ASTM C 231. <br /> <br />12) Slump; ASTM C 143.0 <br />Cast-in-Place Concrete <br />03300 - 46 <br />
