System 01 reservoirs and diversions.

input tables. The data in these input tables include the lime series of flows, incre-
mental flows, releases schedule, ending storage. or diversion schedule at the
particular node 10 which they are connected. Not shown in Rgure 5, for sake of
simpficily, are po.ssible tables receiving the results 01 the simulation. These tables
would be included in any actual simulation, if the user is interested in seeing or
analyzing the sirrulation results.

Initialization

The simulation in each time step begins with some Initialization procedures.
Following Ihese, each input table object attempts to perform its assigned opera-
tions. In most cases, each table will have sufficient data 10 enable it to perform its
operations. Those table objects Ihat can perform their operations place them-
selves in the object activation queue. Once at the top 01 the queue each table
sends its dala for the particular time period to ils connected water object via its
information communication ~nk_

Activation

In this example lables send information 10 fourwaler objects on the river, nodes 1,
2.6 and 7. Each 01 these in lurn check their poRcy statements to see if any of
Ihese data are to be modified or it any of the remaining variables in the mass
balance equalion can be delermined.
