The subroutine for calculating CU of livestock is now included in the main CU
model routine.

. The subroutine for calculating CU under municipal and industrial categories is now
included in the main CU model routine.

. General data included in the USBR (1986) were used to develop a preliminary
estimate for the municipal and industrial categories.

Exoorts

. The subroutine for calculating CU of reservoirs is now included in the main CU
model routine.

. General data included in the USBR (1986)were used to develop a preliminary
estimate of reservoir evaporation.

3.4 DMI Software

Low level DMls needed to retrieve information from the database are at various stages of
completion. Preliminary work has been started testing the procedures to access input data for
the CU model. This is preliminary because the low level DMl's are still being developed. Low
level DMls need to be called by a high level DMI to generate the input to the CU model.

3.5 GUI Development

The original interface for ET Maps (a project jointly sponsored by the Colorado Water
Resources Research Institute and the State Engineer's Office of Colorado) has been converted
to the Visual Data Browser. The first design of the Visual Data Browser and the CU model
have been developed and incorporated into the CRDSS script. The State has tested the Visual
Data Browser and the functional CU model. The upgrade of the Visual Data Browser to
GRASS 4.1 from GRASS 4.0 was completed in August and the design and implementation of
GUI menus of the CU model and structure has been initiated. Some of the menus have already
been integrated in the Visual Data Browser tool. The GUI for the Visual Data Browser tool
will have a menu option that will activate the CU model and a separate window will be
displayed. This feature will allow for a user to utilize only the Visual Data Browser if they
want.

3.6 Documentation
3.6.1 On-line Documentation
The first draft of the CU documentation has appeared on Mosaic and additional hard-

9/30/94 - September Update (1.14-9)

B

IDS Group, CSU
