,
'Review of CROSS Documentation Provided to State
,)

Task Subtask IDS Completion Provided to State Received from State Implemented Changes
2,09 5.4 18 July 1995
Commellts all CU Developers Mallual
1. While a discussion of the various theories of CU aspects may be appropriate for a textbook, it seems that the CRDSS
developers manual should focus on the theory behind the methods adopted for CROSS. This is especially important in
the effective rainfall section where it is believed we could just focus on CROSS methods and if more than one method
is available in CROSS, the developers manual should describe the value of each (when they should be used),
2, What is the N in the municipal use equation on Page Theory-7?
3, The discussion of the development of other uses CU would seem to need additional details on such areas as thermal
electric, mineral resource, livestock. etc" as to where the information sources are and how they were obtained.
4, The DMI discussions on "Program Implementation - 7" would benefit from a list of DMI's being used and a
description of how each is being used,
5, Flowcharts should be placed in order indicated on first flowchart, How does the reader know what variables, lB, IP,
IY, etc. are?
6, Developers Manual document is well written and review is continuing,
Follow Up
IDS is reviewing the comments and will respond individually to each in the next draft version,
Task Subtask IDS Completion Provided to State Received from State Implemented Changes
2,09 12 18 July 1995
Commellts all Review of USBR Weather Statioll alld Recommended New Stations
1. Title should reflect area of interest (San Juan Basin). Memo should be numbered consistently with other project
memos.
2, Page 2, Assumption is that "Temperatures used to calculate consumptive use will be adjusted using appropriate
adiabatic lapse rates," Is this being done for CROSS? Why make an assumption if not consistent with our project?
3, Several summaries of input data from the USBR study are attached to the memo. Why were these attached? How
were they used? If appropriate, a reference should be made at the appropriate place in the memo,
4. Memo appears reasonable and well written.
Follow Up
IDS is waiting for comments to be reviewed,

\~1<O
