Since this is unknown and the rate <br />of inflow is quite variable, evacuation times were estimated assuming <br />several rates of flow. <br /> <br />The results showed that only 1 to 4 days might be available, in <br />addition to any other lead time, to the town of Minturn before serious <br />flooding would occur from a slide at Meadow Mountain. A flood caused by <br />a slide at Whiskey Creek might take from 1 to 4 weeks to reach Minturn. <br />In order for flood waters to back up as far as West Vail, the reservoir <br />at Whiskey Creek would have to start filling by about mid May, and it <br />might take about 3 months. <br />
