<br />On July 22 the Projoot Engineer visited the Regional offioe to <br />disouse problems confront1ng the project office. On July 23 and 24 <br />the Project Engineer visited the Federal POVillr Commission's offioe <br />in Ft. Worth. TexBG. A oonferenoe was held to discuss the power <br />potentials of the projeot. <br /> <br />On July 31 a oonferenoe was held in Denver. Cc>lorado, to disouss <br />the Bureau's report on the WSGon Wheel Gap Unit of the project. Mr. <br />Tipton. Consulting Engineer to the Colorado Ws.ter Conservation Board. <br />raques'ted the conferenoe. He was interested primarily in projeot <br />studies. of reservoirs of different siaos. their oosts. and benefits <br />to be derived from their oporation. <br /> <br />Measurement of the fluotuations of the ground water table was <br />oontinued during the month. <br /> <br />Conejos Division <br /> <br />On July 8 the Regional Direotor, the Regiond Engineer, the <br />Regional Counsel and projeot employees inspeoted the P1atoro Reservoir <br />area. Plens were llIl.de to map the areas oleared in aooordanoe with <br />a reoent direotive of' the Solioitor. <br /> <br />On July 14 the Projeot Engineer questioned the attorney for the <br />Conejos Water Conservsna,y Distriot on the progress being made in <br />seouring individual "oonsent agreements". Mr. Breitenstein said he <br />had bee.n too busy to give any attention to this work. However. in <br />answer to further questions Mr. Breitenstein expressed the opinion <br />that the e.greeme.nts would be obtained in time for the aseessments <br />required to be spread on next year's tax rolls. This timing would <br />leave about three months for the obtaining of the agreements. <br /> <br />Closed Besin Division <br /> <br />A oonference was held in the projsot office on July 9 to disouss <br />oontents of II program report for this division. AtteM 1ng were the <br />Regional Direotor. the Regional Planning Engineer aM projeot employees. <br />It was deoided that t'urther work on this report be delayed until the <br />report of -the Geologioal Survey. on work in this area, is reeeived. <br /> <br />Gene ral <br /> <br />Work on budgets, progrllIllll. estimates, and sohedules took all <br />availltble time of the e.dministrative personnel of the projeot. <br />During the month of' August this work will not be heavy end attention <br />oan be centered on disposal of surplus property. <br /> <br />~1 <br />~~\-~ <br />
