STATE RIVERS PROGRAM At the present time Colorado does not have a State authorized rivers protection program. NATIONAL RIVERS PROGRAM In 1975 twelve Colorado rivers, including the Big Thompson, Cache la Poudre, Colorado, Conejos, Dolores, Elk, Encampment, Green, Gunnison, Los Pinos, Piedra, and Yampa Rivers, were designated for study as potential additions to the National wild and Scenic Rivers System through the passage of P.L. 93-621. These studies have now' been completed; however, to date, no Colorado rivers have been added to ,the National System. The Reagan Administration is proposing to add segments of the following study rivers to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System: 29 miles of the Elk River in Routt National Forest; 36,8 miles 'of the Conejos River in Rio Grande National Forest; 28.4 miles of the piedra River in San Juan National Forest; and 54 miles of the Los pinos River in the Weminuche Wilderness, San Juan National Forest.
