These studies have now'
been completed; however, to date, no Colorado rivers have been added
to ,the National System.

The Reagan Administration is proposing to add segments of the
following study rivers to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System:
29 miles of the Elk River in Routt National Forest; 36,8 miles 'of the
Conejos River in Rio Grande National Forest; 28.4 miles of the piedra
River in San Juan National Forest; and 54 miles of the Los pinos River
in the Weminuche Wilderness, San Juan National Forest. To date,
Congress has not acted on this proposal.

CONTACT: Mr. Dan Merriman
Colorado Water Conservation Board
1313 Sherman St., Rm. 823
Denver, CO 80203
(303) 866-3441

7
