1,<'1 f\8
flu lH U

5.0 The Edit Menu

Diversions

The ten columns 10 the right of the Flow columns reflect diversions
from the river for either direcl use or storage. The types of diver-
sions include In-Priority, Exchange, Transmountain, or Storage
Deliveries. Once diverted, water may be used directly or stored.
Thus, each type of diversion (for example, Priority Diversions) may
have entries for both Direct Use and Storage. Diversions of the
same type (Priority, for instance) by different water users at the same
SU1lClUre should be identified in the comment column. All values in
the Diversion columns, including Storage Diversions, correspond
10 flow in cfs.

To enter diversion values into the WIS, double click on the row con-
taining the diversion sU1lcture of interest. This action will bring up
Ihe Diversion dialog.

Priority Diversion~

Priorily diversions occur at an original, transferred to or allernale
point of diversion. The waler right(s) assigned to Ihe diversion must
have an administration number senior to any downstream call for
water.

To specify a priority diversion al a sU1lcture, enter Ihe value in the
Amount field of the Diversion dialog, specify either Direct or Stor-
age (D/S), and the Admin# for the diversion. The administration
number is specified by selecting (single click) a water right from Ihe
list of Available Water Rights.

The Distribute button leis the user work backwards from a total
amount, allocating the total to water rights in order from senior to
junior.

Distrihute Amounts

The Distribute function allows you 10 enter a 10tal amount of eilher
the Direct or Storage type (but not bolh at Ihe same time), and
Ihen allocates that amount to available admin. numbers from senior 10
junior with each water righl1aking its full decreed amount untillhe
specified total is reached, or until there are no more righls to add.

Drvin~ the River

Part of the Priorily Diversions dialog is the Drying the River indica-
tor. The flag is represented on the Priorily Diversions dialog by check
box. Check this box (next to the fish) if diversions al a sU1lclure dry
the river.

21

7/31/94
