Each <br />of the following buttons performs the same funclion wherever it is imple- <br />mented. <br /> <br />3.3.1 Export <br /> <br />Export - The export bUllon provides a means for Ihe user to save Ihe <br />contents of a dialog to a disk file. Export produces tab delimiled <br />ASCII text, which can be imported into a spreadsheel or into a word <br />processor. <br /> <br />3.3.2 OK <br /> <br />OK - Causes whalever changes made in Ihat dialog to take effect For <br />example: clicking OK in Ihe Preferences Edilor, causes your prefer- <br />ences 10 change. In some cases. clicking OK may produce a warning <br />dialog asking you if you are sure you wanllO proceed wilh an action <br />thai cannot be undone. <br /> <br />3.3.3 Cancel <br /> <br />Unlike OK, Cancel simply closes a dialog, withoU! making any <br />changes to the internal stale of the application. Clicking Cancel in <br />the Preferences Edilor closes the dialog bul makes no changes to your <br />active preferences. <br /> <br />3.3.4 Close <br /> <br />While Cancel closes a dialog, leaving no lasting changes, Close <br />closes a dialog wherein a prior action may have already produced <br />application changes. For example, in the Waler Information Sheet, <br />the contents of a given Informalion Sheel may be wrillen 10 the South <br />Plalle database by clicking on the Commit button. In this contexl <br />Close does nothing more Ihan close the Water Information Sheet <br />dialog since ilS corresponding dala have already been applied outside <br />of that window. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />7/31/94 <br />
