There is sufficient water available to provide a dependable

supply for lands now irrigated and for limited new development.

2. The District Judge held hearings to determine priorities and

allocation of water in Colorado ',iater District No. 45 during

1942 but as of !,lay 1945 the decree of the Court has not been

rendered.

5.

The proposed developments will furnish a more dependable water

"t......

supply for lands now irrigated.

1

4. The. improvement or rehabilitation of existing irrigation

'1/

'structures is necessary to secure continued and dependable

crop production.

5. Vfuere detailed investigation indicates it to be more advanta-

geous to pump water from the river, rather than to obtain it

by direct diversion, it is recommended that such installations

be made.

6. Since the delivery of water by pumping will increase irrigation

costs, it is recommended that water deliveries be measured in

order to determine the minimum amount of wa~er necessary to

produce satisfactory crop yields.

7. The recommended improvements will aid the war effort by in-

creasing food production and will assist in stabilizing the

agriculture of the area.
