Local

communities or units of government are eligible for assistance in those

states which enter into a joint coordination agreement with the SCS and

are authorized by the SCS Administrator. The Colorado Water Conserva-

tion Board (CWCB) is the state agency responsible for floodplain ordi-

nances and floodplain information studies in Colorado.

By letter dated December 23, 1970, the ewCB requested the SCS to

initiate a program of flood hazard analyses and related floodplain

studies.
